West Islip High School preformed the classic show Guys & Dolls over the weekend, and many friends, family, and alumni filled the audience. Guys & Dolls is a great show set in the 1920’s and 1930’s about gangsters, gamblers, and of course dolls! Mikey Marinelli played Nathan Detriot, a man who runs a crap game and is in love with Miss Adelide who dances at the Hot Box. In order for Nathan to have a secret place for the dice game, he bets Sky Masterson $1,000 that he couldn’t take the mission doll, Sargent Sarah Brown, to Havana.
Senior Rachel Swenson put all her heart into her birthday weekend performance as Sarah. Her little brother was also in the show playing Benny Southstreet. She played along side her best friend saying “I wouldn’t want to end my West Islip High School theatre career with anyone else.”
Alumni Danielle Khoury says “after doing the shows here for 4 years, this is the best show they’ve put on so far!”
