Senior Night for Molloy Lions

Wednesday, April 27th- The Lions looked to defeat The Dowling Lions while also honoring their nine seniors. Unfortunately Dowling would end up on top at the final buzzer.

The contest was played at John A. Darcy Field in Rockville Centre, home of the Molloy Lions. Senior midfielder Katie O’Brien had two goals and two assists for Molloy College. These statistics weren’t enough to defeat the Dowling Lions, dropping the competition 12-8.

Dowling College leads the East Coast Conference undefeated.

According to molloylions.com, “Freshman Brianna Wilson and sophomore Jessica Markowitz each added two goals with Wilson winning eight draw controls on the night. Senior defender Chelsea Bauer had three caused turnovers in the effort and red-shirt junior goalie Caroline Winters made seven saves for the maroon and white. Molloy had a 3-1 lead at the halftime break but Dowling scored 11 goals including a run of five in a row to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 7-4 advantage. Senior Emma Ferreira and junior Katie Meinecke each scored four goals for the visitors in the win.”
